Training session in Lisbon (13 - 17 June 2016)

05.07.2016

A total of 30 participants joined our training course on Animal IRT during the festival season in Lisbon. During the field day in the region of Vila Franca de Xira participants had the opportunity to visit Companhia das Lezírias which is the largest agriculture, cattle and forest farmstead in Portugal. Further the delegates could observe specialities of the Portuguese system during the visit of the sites of RAPORAL. This famouse Portuguese brand operates in the Agricultural and Food business and is present in the markets of animal production, compound feed production, meat slaughtering and processing. In order to be able to adapt to the national and international markets, as well as the full traceability of their products the owners welcomed the group to observe the tagging and registration of cattle. The field day was completed by a presentation on the Portuguese database and on the role of the competent authority.
