Training session 07 in Munich (06 - 10 March 2017)

Germany was the host country of the last training event on Animal identification, registration and traceability


25 delegates from 15 different EU member states as well as from Norway, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Turkey and FYR Macedonia attended the training event in Munich from 6 to 10 March 2017. The training includes theoretical instruction, case studies and practical group work. The focus of the workshop forms a one-day field day on which the practical implementation of the EU requirements of animal identification is brought the European participants. The recent field day has been realized in close cooperation with the Cattle Breeding Organization (Rinderzuchtverband) Traunstein under the guidance of the breeding director Dr. Rudolf Maierhofer and with the support of the head of the Veterinary office of Traunstein, Dr. Jürgen Schmid. The participants had the opportunity to visit a regional cattle market and to experience on the spot the handling of animal registration during the auction of calves. Mrs. Anna Dethlefsen, Head of Animal IRT unit of the Animal Recording Association in Bavaria (LKV Bayern) which is mandated by the Bavarian Ministry of Environment and Consumer Protection for Animal identification and registration. In the afternoon VION - Südfleisch in Waldkraiburg in cooperation with the Meat Control Association of Bavaria opened it's doors to receive our participants for a very impressive visit of one of the biggest slaughterhouses in Europe.
